Professor Chris Peck

Chris Peck is Professor and Dean in the Faculty of Dentistry at The University of Sydney.
Prof Peck has completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, a Masters in Occlusion, a Graduate Diploma in Pain Management and a PhD on structure-function relationships of the human masticatory system. His current research and teaching interests are in the assessment and management of oral and facial pain and he maintains clinical practice in pain management. Recent research includes demonstrating the effects of pain, including psychological factors, on jaw function; the regional brain activity differences of different pain types and a new classification system for temporomandibular disorders, the most common type of chronic orofacial pain.
Prof Peck is currently Chair of the Australasian Council of Dental Schools, President of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Orofacial Pain and Director of the Australian Dental Council.
