Professor Laurence J Walsh

Professor Walsh was appointed as Head/Dean of the University of Queensland’s School of Dentistry in January 2004 for a 10 year term.

Prior to taking up this appointment, Professor Walsh was the Director of Clinics and Director of Curriculum Development at UQ.

His interests in teaching & learning/curriculum development include interprofessional learning in the health sciences and the role of oral health professionals within health teams.

His research interests are in advanced technologies and biomaterials, and clinical microbiology.

His service roles in the profession/other/outside the dental school include lecturing and examining for the RACDS, serving on the Dental Board of Queensland, and providing clinical advice to the Australian government’s DVA dental scheme.
