Professor Ward Massey
Head of School, School of Dentistry and Oral Health
Ward Massey received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 1982 and a PhD from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Sydney in 1993.
He has gained extensive experience in academia in Australia with academic appointments in Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning and Restorative Dentistry at the Universities of Adelaide, Sydney and Western Australia.
Moving to the United States in 2001, Ward has teaching and research experience with the University of Maryland’s, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
In January 2008 he returned to Charles Sturt University as Foundation Professor and Head of School of the newly established School of Dentistry and Health Sciences.
Ward was appointed Dean and Head of the School of Dentistry and Oral Health at Griffith University in February 2010
Ward’s research interests are focused on the fields of preventive and restorative management of high caries risk patients, salivary diagnosis of systemic disease and the use of digital technology in education.
